Welcome to Freedive Australia

Freediving, or 'apnea', is the art of spending time underwater, free of the burden of air cylinders and breathing apparatus. The sport covers everything from snorklers looking down upon the reefs to those that, with only one lungful of air, reach depths few SCUBA divers could ever even contemplate. So whether it's cruising with manta rays, the Big Blue or competing for your country that gets you excited, freediving is for you.

Freedive Australia was set up by Sacha Dench and Ted Lougher to develop freediving in Australia, get more people reaching their potential underwater and to link Australian freedivers with freedivers worldwide.

The Freedive Australia website brings you: training; adventures; subscription to Freedive News; the latest events and features on freediving around the world; competitions; 'Find a Buddy' and notice board service; photos and more. If you don't find what you're looking for here or have more questions, please feel free to ring Sacha or Ted and ask.
